The go-to one for me when I want to find comfort is
You Were There, especially the part
'You are shelter from the storm - All shadows fade away, all cares pass away' - this is the song which can remind me of exactly how I felt during the days when I first discovered Libera. Some of you may have remembered me from my early days as a Libera fan - I was super-duper-hyper active everywhere about Libera, and I usually talked about the motivation I got from them (like the world is instantly a better place, I suddenly have hope for the future, it seems like nothing can go wrong when I still have Libera music with me, etc.) - this very song can take me back to those days. All the overflowing positive feelings back then can make a comeback with this song, sparkling as ever. So yes, this is the one song for me - I don't want to listen to it too much for fear it would lose this magical effect, if that makes any sense.
Angel and
Far Away can also have this effect, but not as strong.
Some other songs I think of right now:
Secret (calming, carefree, as a little child without any heavy thoughts),
Be Still My Soul (something about RP's arrangement really hit me, especially when it comes to the 'grand' part near the end only to end in unison
'at last'),
Abide With Me (nothing much to say,
'ills have no weight and tears no bitterness'),
Lament (feels like you can just take a deep breath while surrounded with fresh wisdom from the past in the air
),
How Can I Keep From Singing' (fresh new start of life),
We Are The Lost (don't know why, but my soul just feels a calming breeze whenever I play it),
Lux Aeterna &
Twilight is Stealing (like a calming afternoon, these two have lured me to sleep from time to time). Other honorable mentions would be
Home,
Hymn to Mary, and
Sing Lullaby.
