What are your favorite books?

Just wondering if us Libera fans are alike only in musical tastes-
What is/are your favorite book/s?
I like The Lord of the Rings books and The Chronicals of Narnia,
and another favorite is Oliver Twist.
I tend to appreciate more character-driven books than action-driven.
How about you all?

Such a difficult question, I loved Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Once and Future King and the Book of Myrelin, but my all time favourite would be Sans Famille/ Nobody's boy from Hector Mallot.

I will have to say my favorites are The Great Gatsby, Prey, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and Time of the Butterflies. I am currently taking an Honors English class in school and we have read these books in that class except Prey and its really fun. I'm not an avid reader but when I read something I really like I just cant put it down

Well, I kind of enjoy reading and I like Dan Brown's Angels & Demons, Da Vinci Code, Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet In Heaven, erm.. Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, as well as the Harry Potter series and The Time Traveler's Wife. And those Star Wars stuff as well.

I also enjoyed Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.
If you liked those books you should read A Conneticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court and The Prince and the Pauper. They're also by Mark Twain.

I like Huck and Tom as characters. I like The Adventures of Huck Finn, too, but (at least at the moment) I like The Adventures of Tom Sawyer better. The Prince and the Pauper is good. I started A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (and I liked what I read) but I didn't get a chance to finish it.
I also like sweet little books, i.e. The Secret Garden or The Tanglewoods' Secret... I also like the Squires' Tales by Gerald Morris, Johnny Tremain... yeah, I have strange tastes.

I like exactly the same types!
I loved the Tanglewoods Secret, but I preferred Star of Light, Treasures of the Snow, and The Runaway.
Patricia St. John is such a sweet author!

Who is your favourite Squire's Tales character? Mine is Terence.

He's awesome.

The Tanglewoods' Secret, Treasures of the Snow, and Star of Light are my favourite books by Patricia St. John. At the moment my favourite is The Tanglewoods' Secret. It made me cry. I cry a lot when I read.

Iee! I love The Squire's Tales! I like Gawain. I need to read those again.

My favorite books are Lord of the Rings [of corse], Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit, The Harry Potter series [her writing style is awesome], Peter Pan [J.M. Barrie is so amazing. I love him.], and I'm just reading some of Jane Austin's books; Pride and Prejudice, and Sense and Sensibility. I'm also going to read Oliver Twist and Gone with the Wind soon. I'm rather excited.

Which ones have you read? I'm half way through Pride and Prejudice. I like Jane. And Mr. Bingley makes me chuckle.

I do love a good scifi/fantasy story, so here are some of my favourites:
-Harry Potter Series
-Ender's Game (and subsequent books)
-Narnian books
-The Neverending Story- an amazing book! If you like fantasy, read it!
-The Midkemia novels by Raymond Feist (Magician, Silverthorn, etc.)
-Illuminatus Trilogy- only read the first of three, but very in depth. Just a warning if anyone picks up the book: it is NOT for kids.
-Dystopian novels in general (Handmaid's Tale, Lord of the Flies, 1984, etc.)

I also seem to enjoy the character driven novels, though I occasionally want some satire on the current state of the world in it, to either be glad we're not at the same level as dystopian societies, or to be scared how close we're getting.
