Cormac Thompson has been mentioned on this forum before, he was a Young Chorister of the Year finalist in December, but didn't have his own topic, so here it is.

Cormac is currently 12 years old and has already had an album out on Decca records, "Hear My Voice", which is a fantastic listen. However, as it was only a one album deal he is now releasing his own music.

His first solo effort was Pie Jesu from Faure Requiem Op 48 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nS9W8BnVeVM in October, followed by Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and was released by him in December. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLkFZcWrDQw

Yesterday he released his third song, "Empty Chairs At Empty Tables" , a Les Miserables cover, as a charity single in aid of "Acting For Other" a charity providing support for theatre workers.

You can buy or stream the song and he has a justgiving page here for the charity: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/cormac-thompson

The wonderfully sung and very moving video can be found here:

He has a really nice voice. When he was younger his voice was a tad bit thin, but has broadened out as he's gotten older to a pleasant treble. He seems to really care about using his talents for these charitable purposes; which is commendable. When I was his age I would never gave much thought to such things. Good for him!

Seems like he's dropped into the alto range for his upcoming Christmas track. His voice is rich and full now... really beautiful.

Wow I really love his alto voice ! I am curious to discover his matured voice in a few years.

He is singing in London a few days after the Libera concert. He hasn't publicised it, so I am reticent to do so publicly. However, if you are a Cormac fan and want to know, then msg me on twitter and I'll tell you.

I managed to get middle of second row, so I should hopefully have a great seat for his songs. :D

Would be great, however I cannot stay in London for a few days... I will only manage to attend the Libera concert, and be back to France...

OK, he has posted about it now!

"It will be an absolute honour for me to sing for The Salvation Army at their annual Christmas concert at The Royal Albert Hall - 7th December. Still some tickets available if anyone would like to come"

Thanks for sharing.
December 7 is a Wednesday, 3 days after the Libera concert.

Interesting, but to stay a couple of days in London at that period of time could be difficult for foreigners.
As for Padmachou, I can't make it.

Counting on your accurate review Celtic :)

Why bother with a review by me, full of hackneyed descriptions an amateur analysis... when...

...you can just listen to it yourself!

He sings two song's together and then a third right near the end. The eagle eyed amongst you may even spot me, sullying the video with my presence. :P

Thanks Celtic, very grateful for this. You might have noticed an empty seat in the second row in which I should have been sitting. Senior moments of forgetfulness are becoming senior hours or even senior days.

Looking forward to this. If I'm honest his younger voice I didn't care for because it was too childish but his maturing voice is excellent. His Cinema Paradiso is fantastic.
