The Libera Shop

Post by kjackson83 »

Anyone familiar with this? I'd never noticed it--

A link from Libera's YT page:

Nope? It's probably new I guess? I think they just added it some time ago.. looks like a collaboration with Amazon of some sort. Probably so that people could easily find Libera albums..

This isn't an entirely satisfactory answer, but here goes...

This (http://www.amazon.com/Visions-Libera/dp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... 524&sr=1-2 ) is $51.99 because it's enhanced and an import...it's titled Visions

This (http://www.amazon.com/LiberaVisions-Rob" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... 524&sr=1-1 ) is the $14.99 version, isn't enhanced, and isn't an import, apparently...this one is titled LiberaVisions (without the space...???).

These aren't considered the same or even similar by Amazon.com (although someone enterprising might check those fine purveyors of British stuff: Amazon.co.uk), having completely separate reviews for each (and there is a particularly nasty one on Visions--the expensive one).

I think the US album is the enhanced version, while the UK link is for the regular version of the album...

Speaking of those: for the writing-inclined out there, reviewing Libera's CDs for Amazon.com and/or Amazon.co.uk is a good way of advocating the group--and warding off the occasional classical purist.

Ok, without belabouring this any more than I already have:

It's because whoever put that mini-site together linked the wrong version of Visions for one of the two stores (probably the American store).

* the cheap version of Visions from British Amazon.com Territory: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... 075&sr=8-1

* the expensive version of Visions from BA.comT:
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... 075&sr=8-3

At today's exchange rate (£1 = $1.44), the US store is overcharging for the expensive version by over $10...ouch

...of course, that's before P&P (and Royal Mail is not cheap), so...
