Libera sing for the Holy Father and 60,000 in Yankee Stadium

In their largest and most prestigious appearance ever, the boys took part in
the Papal Mass event at the vast New York stadium on Sunday 20th April. The
Mass was the climax of Pope Benedict XVI's first visit to the US.

Tom Cully and Josh Madine opened the proceedings as they walked onto the
stage to begin the Libera song, 'Far Away'. The other boys joined in time for
the chorus as their voices rang out across one of the largest venues ever to
host such an event, which was also televised live across the US and many
other countries.

Later the boys sang 'Sanctus' and took part in the finale of the concert as
the Holy Father arrived at the stadium to begin the Mass.

See our photo gallery for some pictures of the event.

Kind regards

Libera

I think it was something special for Libera to sing for such a big audience! And boys were great as usual
Just one question - what's happened to Ed? He looks so strange when he sings "Sanctus" in this vid...

The wind was blowing right into their faces and it was only 59 F that day. Ed isn't the only one having issues. So were both Zach and Liam. Liam has a good case of wind burn starting on his face. As a former perform who used to do all performing outside, it is very hard if the weather is not cooperating.

I wondered what the deal was that day myself. It looked to me as if the sun was in their eyes or something.

The deal IS... everyone of us are sitting on sofa and listening their great music, but they sometimes are going through fire and water. And vids like this shows us a hard work, but they are great anyway as always. :)

We can be proud of these boys! 8)
