Re: Musical gems
OK, here's a good January pastime: You're compiling a two-disc album called LIBERA:GREAT PERFORMANCES, featuring Libera songs and videos, beginning with the group's "official" founding in 1999. One disc is a CD, the other a DVD.The CD is composed of up to 12-14 audio tracks; the DVD conta...

Re: Carol of the Bells Review
I just realized that COTB now has 28 million hits. It obviously resonates with a large audience   Yes, it piles on around 3 million views each December + a steady amount over the rest of the year. Interesting that the 2010 video has basically frozen at 10 million views and no long...

Re: Forever (Spring 2023)
1.5 million! Not a surprise to me. What is interesting is that the only two other song to get significant listens are the covers of Love Shine a Light & God Only knows. Not sure how many people would have selected LSAL as the song with the second most number of plays (apart from me of course :w...

Re: 2023 - Two UK Concerts in December
Thanks for your detailed review Yorkie. I'm not sure I understand about the 7 parts of Libera. Do you mean they break down the harmonics into 7 different tone sets? Why won't you get to prove it again? Yes the part where Dan conducts the boys to sing part of Libera to show the layers of harmonies t...

Re: 2023 - Two UK Concerts in December
Thank you for this very nice extensive review Yorkie ! Feels just like a Christmas gift as well. If I can help about the Libera 7 parts... I think the trick is, it starts high and you hear the parts adding from top to lower notes, but the last one they add (the 7th) is actually the very highest one...

Re: 2023 - Two UK Concerts in December
‘Tis the season to be jolly! And it is certainly more so when you have the chance to see not one but two Libera concerts just a few weeks apart. So, it was off to Arundel for the second of the two concerts and well worth the journey it was (although I’m always in awe of those fans that fly for thous...

Re: 2023 - Two UK Concerts in December
My first Libera Christmas concert was in 2019 and my second was 2022. I'm surprised at the set list for SJSS 2023. Where is 'Wexford Carol', 'Walking in the Air', or 'Do you Hear'? I'm looking forward to Arundel and I hope they swap some of the songs with more Christmas tunes. Some of these missing...

Re: 2023 - Two UK Concerts in December
Someone who follows Libera's trends more closely than I might be able to confirm this, but am I right in thinking that Libera is utilizing the lower voices more than in years past? I wouldn't say that is true. The backrow can fluctuate in number depending on how many older boys choose to stay on or...

Re: 2023 - Two UK Concerts in December
A seasonal cold snap meant that most people were deterred from arriving at St John’s Smith Square early, so there were only two of us as rehearsal’s started and we tried to be first to name the song from the little we could hear through the door. It was my first chance to hear the group since their ...

Re: 2023 - Two UK Concerts in December
By the way, Sing Forever was sung. Nathan and Joseph performed it beautifully. This concert? I don't remember it, nor see it on the programme. Sing for your world, I remember; but sing for ever, I don't. It wasn't sung on Saturday - whilst my memory is fading as I get older, I'm not yet ready for t...
