Re: Star Spangled Banner in Minor Key
Sorry to bump this "old" topic up again, but I watched/listened to the posted video, and while it's got its moments I agree with you TullyBascombe about how it's a little too down for a national anthem (the harmony at the end was cool though). Naturally it would be, being a minor key, but ...

Re: Old press article on Libera
Nice find! I hadn't read that one before, and particularly enjoyed the last half of the last line: "...the visual element of a seeing gang of kids perform is refreshingly unpretentious."
It gave me a bit of a giggle.

Re: Star Spangled Banner in Minor Key
I've never liked the USA's national anthem (watch, the security administration's gonna be at my door in an hour), and am gonna listen to this as soon as I have some headphones near me! Personally, of the national anthems I can think of off the top of my head right now I'm pretty sure my all time fav...

Re: Official USA 2014 Tour
I'll add my thanks as well to the folks who took the time to type out their reviews of these performances. Looks like Libera's got another group of quite talented lads. Of course, when don't they? ;) Not to be selfish, but I'm very much hoping for another US tour this summer...preferrably in the mid...

Re: Libera on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" & "Today" (NB
Just watched it! There were a lot of boys present (about 20? I'm bad with estimations). They sang Carol of the Bells. I think the sound quality could have been a bit better (might have been because I was watching it on a semi-low volume in a college dorm...) and the audience started clapping before...

Re: Libera on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" & "Today" (NB
I just saw them on Leno! Bit disappointed that there was no interview, but I'll get over it. Performance sounded a little echo-y to me, but not too bad and with the different set up probably couldn't be helped. I only recognize a few of the boys now, and it makes me feel so out of the loop. Oh well,...

Re: Libera - Christmas in Ireland
Two VERY tough choices so far! The first one a bit less so because Away in a Manger was new, but this one...wow! I have to say that I wasn't a huge fan of HYAMLC the first time around, but this arrangement was wonderful! I thought I was going to vote for In Dulci Jubilo and that it was going to be a...

Re: Libera - Christmas in Ireland
Quick question..... Is the CD the audio track from the DVD, or an entirely different studio recording??? I'm itching to know this too, as I really want to get both the CD and DVD at the same time but can wait if the songs on the CD are the same as the one from before (Joy to the World, Carol of the...

Only on Amazon US, not UK ? http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Libera%20Angels%20sing I don't see any listing for a DVD either, if that's what you're talking about. Just the CD for $18.99 available for pre-order but no hint of the DVD. *edit* Never mind...

Re: Free concert of Libera at Armagh : 9 August 2013
Probably my favourite carol if it is the Darke arrangement. What was the AV version, Holst or Darke? I would always welcome a Libera version but overall I was pretty satisfied with what we got. Pretty sure the one on the CD is the Holst version, which I tend to like a bit more, but both are indeed ...

Re: Free concert of Libera at Armagh : 9 August 2013
I just realized that this concert was missing something, I think anyway, and if this is the beginning of a new CD then that CD will be missing it too. Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else miss the song "In The Bleak Midwinter?" I know it was done on the Angelvoices 3 CD, but it's just ...

Re: Free concert of Libera at Armagh : 9 August 2013
Thank you for the wonderful reviews of what sounds like an extraordinary concert! I LOVE Christmas music and I LOVE Libera, and with this combination (with the addition of the legendary deep voices in white robes!!!) I can't wait for the DVD to be released and I do hope that Voca Me is included some...

Re: A point for discussion
I can't contribute much to this discussion right now, but I want to thank you for donating to Libera. As someone who is absolutely gutted because of the inability to donate anything to them I am glad when I see that others can and still are. Whether you're allowed to advertise your shop link on the ...

Re: Summer tour 2013??
I'm hoping that they'll return to Minnesota or the midwest again. Minnesota because they didn't get a lot of time to advertise their concerts here (that was the year they were supposed to go to China) and because I live here, hehe. The Minnesota concerts disappointed me because their attendance was...

Re: UK Concert Guildford May 11 2013
Thanks for the clarification. I figured that's what you meant, but I had to be sure. I got a kick out of watching Kavana in Minneapolis 2 summers ago, and he seems like such a great kid. With the older boys being back and Kavana being kind of in the middle there, I dunno, it's cool to me, especially...
