Re: Luca Brugnoli
Back to the Young chorister of the year 2022 competition. A 3rd competitor is now known, Alice Platten , 16 Yo. She sings with the Norwich Cathedral choir. She was already a semi-finalist at the same competition in year 2020. So far just 3 of the 10 competitors have appeared on Google. - Luca Brugn...

Re: Luca Brugnoli
Cai Thomas got to the half-way point with 62 backers but only 10 days remaining. https://www.kicktraq.com/projects/cai-thomas/record-cai-thomas/ It seems he was featured several times in local newspapers and radio etc, each of which gave him a boost. I tend to pledge nearer the end of these things, ...

Re: Other Choirs, Singers, Musicians that you like
Is anyone going to the King's College Cambridge concert in London tonight? It doesn't seem to have been publicised much which is annoying as I'd definitely have gone if I hadn't only found out about it yesterday.

Re: Other Choirs, Singers, Musicians that you like
As if James O'Donnell leaving wasn't bad enough, the three fantastic soloists have all left the choir this summer. James, second from right, in particular was a fantastic singer and had solos in pretty much every major televised concert or service in the last year. Still clearly in his prime ...

Re: Other Choirs, Singers, Musicians that you like
I also made it to the Choir of Westminster Abbey's St John Passion last night. It was a bit of a last minute purchase, which meant taking one of the unreserved aisle seats. I managed to get a seat just forward of the soloists, so I could hear them properly, but with direct line of sight/sound to ab...

Re: Schola Cantorum Upcoming Performances
London's other Schola Cantorum has a concert in London next week for anyone who might be able to attend (I wish I could). In my opinion they're the best at what they do now that Westminster Cathedral choir has been dismembered by the powers that be. Details here: https://twitter.com/OratorySchola/s...

Re: Vienna Boys Choir: From Austria with Love
There's nothing new in these complaints. :( Benjamin Britten wrote the opera The Golden Vanity for them in 1966, which they took on a two month tour of Europe. He was impressed by their first performance of it, but was horrified by the performance at the end of the tour as the boys were obviously ov...

Re: Help Archie (14yo treble) record an album
Archie will perform in two online concerts tomorrow, as part of a vocal consort along with three other trebles. Tickets for streaming available here: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/oxfordmusichub Apparently he's six foot tall now so I shouldn't think there will be many more concerts for him as ...

Re: Schola Cantorum - Hodie!
It's certainly a work which contains lots of opportunities to deliver a less than stellar performance!
I'm looking forward to be able to attend concerts in London again, alas I'm having to miss this Christmas season for family reasons.
